Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will my order ship? I placed my order 2 days ago and it still hasn’t shipped. Why hasn’t it shipped yet?

A: Order processing time is usually 3-5 business days before shipping. Packages are typically shipped in bulk on Tuesdays and Thursdays, unless one of those days falls on a holiday, in which case those packages will be shipped either the day before or after the holiday. Please note that USPS is not open on national holidays to accept & process shipments. All perfumes are hand blended, hand packaged and orders are fulfilled by the perfumer. There is no staff or fulfillment center. When you place an order, your items will be hand bottled & labeled, which takes time. Once the shipping label for your order has been printed, you will receive an email confirmation with a tracking number so you can follow the progress of your package on its route to you.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: If you are outside the USA and looking to purchase my perfumes, you may purchase my fragrances from Fragrance Vault, which is a licensed reseller and is able to ship internationally.

Q: What is your return policy? If I order a large size product and don’t like the smell, can I return it for a refund?

A: I cannot accept returns on used cosmetics, personal care products & fragrances/perfumery materials for hygiene purposes, as returned items cannot be resold. I offer sample sizes of all products. Please try a sample size before purchasing a full-sized product. If there is a problem with your product, please contact me immediately & I will do everything I can to resolve your problem.

Q: I am trying to add a Perfume of the Month Club subscription to my shopping cart but it isn’t letting me, what is wrong?

A: Perfume of the Month Club Subscriptions must be purchased in a separate transaction. You cannot combine a Perfume of the Month Club Subscription with other products in your shopping cart. Subscription services must be purchased in a separate transaction, as they are recurring charges.

Q; Do you use real animal musks and animal products in your perfumes? I see that some of your perfumes include a “Deer Musk, Castoreum or Civet Accord”. Are you using real deer musk and civet?

A: No. I do not use real deer musk, civet or beaver castoreum in my perfumes. Those animals are either killed or tortured to extract their musks. Deer musk is an endangered species and is included in the CITES Convention as a protected animal. Perfumers who use real deer musk are breaking the law. My Deer Musk, Civet & Castoreum Accords are a mixture of synthetic and natural non-animal essences that approximate the odor of these animal musks. The only animal by-products I use in my perfumes is “found” ambergris, which is a waste product from whales that is naturally ejected from their digestive tract and washes up on beaches, and beeswax absolute which is an extraction of purified beeswax. I passionately believe that no animal should be killed or tortured so that we humans can smell good.

Q: Are your perfumes IFRA-compliant? I read online that you do not follow the IFRA standards for safety when making your perfumes. Is that true?

A: That is not true. My perfumes are IFRA-compliant. I take great care to follow IFRA standards when composing my fragrances. Much research goes into choosing safe materials and using them at recommended levels. Every perfume formula I create is run through formulation software that checks every material and the amount used and it will notify me if I go over the limit. In that case I will adjust my formula to make sure I do not exceed safe levels on any ingredient. Then I send a sample of my finished perfume to a third party lab to be tested to make sure that my calculations are correct. Only after I receive their reports & only if the perfume passes their safety assessment will I release a fragrance to the public. The safety of my clients has always been and will remain my top priority.
