Bergamot Traditional Essential Oil
It's odor is a light, sparkling citrus with green herbal nuances, light floral elements & a gentle woody undertone. Bergamot is used in a majority of commercial fragrances to give an energetic lift and openness to a fragrance. I call Bergamot "the chameleon of citrus fruits" because it is not as easily recognizable as lemon, lime or orange, and has a more elegant feel than other citrus fruits.
You may recognize bergamot as the citrus note in Earl Gray Tea. In addition to citrus nuances, it also has light floral and woody herbal characteristics that tend to linger beyond the initial juicy blast of citrus. Bergamot is a key ingredient in classical fragrance structures such as Chypres & Fougères and helps to give perfumes diffusion and lift.
This Bergamot is of the highest quality Italian Bergamot from Calabria. It is not rectified, which means that the furocoumarin & bergaptene has not been removed. It is an exquisitely bright & juicy smelling distillation with a delicate blueish-green tint. Due to it being non-rectified, it’s use is restricted by IFRA to 0.4% of your final perfume. You can make up the difference in your formulas by supplementing our Bergamot BF Essential Oil (Bergaptene-free) for the difference.
